- The Difference Between Yellow Mustard and Dijon
- Yellow mustard is made from white and yellow mustard seeds and uses turmeric for yellow color
- Dijon is more tangy and a little spicier than yellow mustard
- Dijon is made from black mustard seeds.
- Traditional Dijon contains Verjus, the pressed juice of unripen grapes, which can be red (made from either purely red grapes or a red-white mix) or white (made from white grapes. This gives it the tart characteristic flavor.
- Apparently Dijon doesn’t have the same political or economic influence as Champagne.
- Dijon can be made from anywhere and still be called Dijon.
- Champagne can only be made in the Champagne region of France. If made any other area or country must be called a sparkling wine.
